Dakar Rally

Measuring the successes of the inaugural staging of the Dakar Rally in Asia, including recommendations to maximize the economic, media and social impacts for future editions.

Portas was engaged to evaluate the performance and demonstrate the successes of the inaugural Dakar Rally in Asia.  We also identified strategic recommendations to further enhance the impacts of future editions of the event.

Approach

  • Gathered and analysed data from multiple sources and stakeholders, including analysing post event reports from delivery partners.
  • Interviewed over 60 internal and external stakeholders to gather information, feedback and learnings to support development of recommendations.
  • Developed benchmarks against prior editions of the event.

Achievements

  • Created high impact infographics for dissemination to key stakeholders, the public and for media briefings.
  • Submitted a detailed post event report evaluating and highlighting the global perception, economic and social impacts of the event.
  • Measured and reported on the achievements against pre-determined objectives and targets for the event.
  • Developed recommendations to enhance and improve future editions of the Dakar Rally across four key areas: organization, project management, commercial and operations.
