Tom Hobkinson is currently serving as a Partner at Portas, where he has focused on leading Portas' work in rugby on a global basis, as well as advising international federations, national governing bodies, and leagues on critical topics such as revenue and cost optimization, competition design, women's sport, and governance. His achievements at Portas include working with global CEOs to agree on a new global calendar across men’s and women’s rugby; developing the future business model, league structure, and governance structure of a new elite competition; and supporting a major union on the future strategy and structure of men's professional rugby. He has also supported a private equity firm with post-acquisition strategy, worked with European national football associations to develop their whole game plans, and developed the vision, facility mix, business model, and activation plan for a major sports development.

Prior to joining Portas, Tom spent 4 years consulting at Newton Europe, where he focused on converting strategic vision into tangible results through complex problem solving, change management, and implementation support. 

Tom holds a degree from Oxford University, where he graduated with First Class Honours, and is also an Oxford University Blues footballer.
