Teck Yin Lim is currently serving as an Expert Partner at Portas, where he is providing expert input to a wide spectrum of projects, primarily focusing on national sport strategy and policy, and the levers for implementation. He is actively involved in the development of legacy strategies for major global sports events and approaches to leveraging sport to impact the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Teck Yin has been providing expert input for various projects, including national sport strategy, federation transformation initiatives, major event reviews, infrastructure development, and social impact strategy. He has also presented at international forums on sport for development.
Before joining Portas, Teck Yin was the Chief Executive Officer of Sport Singapore from 2011 to 2023. During his tenure, he was responsible for the development and implementation of the national sport strategy. He led the organization of major sport and multi-sport events, including the 2015 South-east Asian Games and the ASEAN Para Games, and the annual Standard Chartered Marathon in Singapore. He also spearheaded partnerships across the public, private, and social sectors to deploy sport for development across multiple national interests, including health, social development, infrastructure development, and youth mobilization.
Teck Yin has served on the board of a sport federation, national Olympic committee, public sector agencies, schools, charities, and foundations. He represented Singapore in water polo, winning six South-east Asian Games gold medals and an Asian Games bronze medal. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Science (Management) from the Sloan Fellows Masters Program at London Business School.
