Ally McDonald Alonso is the Head of Marketing, overseeing the marketing, communications, events, translation, graphics, and knowledge functions globally at Portas. Ally has been instrumental in forming the Marketing Department, developing an updated visual identity, and co-leading the Global Offsite. With 17 years of industry experience, Ally has previously led the Vice-Chancellor’s Office at Loughborough University and worked in strategic recruitment, marketing, and media roles within Olympic sports.
In addition to professional achievements, Ally has a strong background in sports, having played lacrosse for Wales and completed the Alta 2Dagers, a 100km dog sled race in the Arctic Circle. Ally’s educational background includes a BSc in Sports Science with Management and an MSc in Leadership and Management from Loughborough University.
