Alex is currently serving as a Data Analyst at Portas. In this role, he is responsible for automating data extraction processes, codifying strategic frameworks, and performing data and visual analysis. His work includes running Monte Carlo simulations to design optimized game formats and support competition structures for various sporting leagues. He is also developing data pipelines to collect and analyze diverse datasets, supporting analytics needs in the sports and physical activity domain.
Before joining Portas, Alex worked as a Data Analyst at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) for a year and a half. During this time, Alex created self-serve dashboards, delivered data-driven reports, and built machine learning models to segment customers for targeted marketing campaigns.
Alex holds a MSc in Data Science and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University. At University, Alex worked part-time as a Sport Performance Analyst in various sports, providing key insights to coaches and athletes. Alex was also nominated for the Loughborough University Performance Support Volunteer of the Year in 2022. Currently, Alex actively participates in CrossFit and Hyrox, along with regular runs and hikes.
