Mark Lawrie

Mark is an expert advisor based in Riyadh.

Prior to working with Portas, he was the Global leader of the Major Events practice at Deloitte UK.  He has extensive experience working in Sport & Major Event governance and strategy. He has supported governments, rights holders and delivery organisations through the conception, implementation, operation, and governance of sporting and major events.

He was seconded from UK to Deloitte’s Middle East firm to lead its Qatar consulting practice and to advise Qatar’s FIFA World Cup 2022 on organisation, governance, guest experience, legacy strategy and commercial strategy. He subsequently moved to Dubai where he led Deloitte’s relationship with Dubai EXPO 2020.
